We bought this fryer for my grandfather last year and have been using it ever since. We are not inexperienced when it comes to turkey frying. My uncle usually fried our turkeys for us every year. I do admit our first run at it, the turkey wasn't fully done as someone previously stated on here. There was a simple solution for that, throw it back in there! We immediately put the turkey back in and let it finish cooking. That was our experiment turkey and we ate all of it. The second time we had the same problem and just threw the remainder in the oven to finish off. The meat was tender and juicy, we injected ours and all that you could taste was tender cajun flavors. We have of course fried 4 more turkeys since then, and needless to say, they all came out wonderful. We've done rubs, olive oil, italian dressing injects, etc. so all of these bad reviews saying it isn't like fried turkey, I just can't understand. That crispy wing that I ate tasted like fried turkey to me! We are purchasing all of the accessories this year for Christmas in hopes of trying the other recipes for fried chicken, wings, and rotisserie chicken from the Bigsizzle website.
